Menopause Signs

When it comes to early menopause signs, there are some signs and indicators that are very well known and some that are not so well known. In this article, I'm going to outline for you some of the more obvious early menopause signs and some of the lesser known. Which ones you will personally have to cope with and to what degree, will vary from person to person.

Perimenopause

Perimonpause is the period that leads up to the actual menopause and during which the classic early menopause signs first reveal themselves. Some women will sail through the actual perimenopause and the menopause itself without missing a beat, while others are not so lucky.

During the perimenopause, which classically can last anywhere between 2-8 years, the estrogen levels in a woman's body falls and rises irratically. This causes your periods to last longer, shorten or disappear for weeks or months.

During the the perimenopause it is STILL possible to get pregnant, that because there will be periods when you do ovulate, so contraception should always be used.

Early Menopause Signs

1) Hot Flashes
- this has to be one of the most classic signs that women experience. They can occur at anytime during the night or day, but many women complain that the menopause night sweats or hot flashes often wakes them up and causes sleep disturbance. Hot flashes are particularly unpleasant as you feel like a wave of heat washes over your body and leaves you soaking with sweat.

2) Vaginal Dryness - this menopause sign can lead to a number of problems for women who experience it. From loss of libedo and painful sex, to vaginal infections and there may even be some loss of bladder control when coughing or sneezing.

3) Menopause and Depression - Because of the changes in hormone levels, this can lead to a raft of different emotional unease in a woman and many women, who are going through the symptoms of menopause often suffer from anxiety, depression, mood swings, aggression and difficulty focusing and concentrating. If you ever suffered with PMS or have been pregnant, then you begin to understand just what kind of emotional rollercoster early menopause signs can subject you to.

Not only that, there is the reality that a certain time of your life is 'over' and you are moving into a time when society considers menopausal women less - though this of course is nonesense. However for you and your self-esteem, this can be hit quite hard.

4) A Decrease in your Fertility - This one might seem obvious, but it's on the list nonetheless. When you're going through the early menopause signs your fertility will decline. This is becuase your body is no longer producing enough hormones to support ovulation as it used to. As already stated, it is STILL possible to get pregnant, so contraception should be used.

Menopause night sweats, menopause signs, menopause and depression, these perimenopause symptoms are all managable!
